English 1 -- Today in class, students completed a collaborative activity called "character pyramids" which helped them analyze the main characters in The Miracle Worker.  Afterward, students began reading Act Two of the play.

English 2 -- Today in class, students took a reading check quiz over chapters 8 and 9 of The Kite Runner which they read for homework.  Next they read chapter 10 of the novel either with a partner or silently to themselves, and then we read chapter 11 together as a class.  We discussed the events that have defined the life of the main characters, Amir, thus far, and we learned Amir and Baba's struggle to make it to their new home in America after saying a painful goodbye to their servants/friends, Hassan and Ali.
